Props for Displays, Events and Advertisements
Although I have been lucky enough to work on several longer-term shows in my career, I have filled some work-gaps with short term projects as well. Many of these projects were assisting Andrew Heffron with detailed, time-limited constructions for YTV and Spinmaster.
In 2002, I had the opportunity to build two displays to mount and contextualize medical artifacts at the Canada Science and Technology Museum in Ottawa.
Display for Dr. Penfield's Device
Display to contextualize the device that Dr. Penfield used to map functions of the brain.
Display mount for Heart Pump
To display a Canadian-designed Heart Pump which was cutting edge technology in 2002.
Display for Installed Heart Pump
The heart pump included an in-body battery pack, allowing the patient greater freedom and quality of life.
The View Hosts in Pixos
Using Spinmaster craft kit Pixos, we made portraits of the hosts which appeared on the show.
Schnez Peeler
Steampunk contraption that spun and waved its weaponized arms for YTV "Keep It Weird" station IDs.
Retro-Techno TV

Large Techno-Sphere

Witch's Finger

A cacophony of stop-motion action started each episode of the HBO show "Crashbox".
